The Goose Hollow Family Shelter just successfully finished its 15th season!

The Goose Hollow Family Shelter is an emergency winter shelter for homeless families with children that was founded in 1994. The shelter operates each winter from November 1 - April 30. We are one of the few shelters in the Portland metropolitan area that allows homeless families to stay together while living in temporary shelter.

This year was one of the busiest shelter seasons that we have ever seen - we were constantly full of homeless families with children. Many of our families this year were 2-parent families who had never been homeless before. We helped 48 families with children this year, and helped 34 of those families find housing. In all, 70.8% of our families found permanent housing solutions.
